Great joy with the children
God led Tucker and Becky to Habitat for Hope in 2009 to support, serve, and care for families whose children are critically or chronically ill. Memphis is a major pediatric hospital hub; families have left homes, jobs, friends, families, and churches to come there. The heart of Habitat for Hope is to be the hands and feet of Jesus. With a committed group of volunteers and staff, they serve families by feeding them, providing shelter, transportation, counsel, times to gather at the Habitat for Hope campus, and staying in close contact once they return home.
Tucker is a native Memphian with a degree from Auburn University and a Masters in City and Regional Planning from the University of Memphis. He uses his skills as a planner / designer to create a retreat for families enduring a life threatening illness in the life of their child. His personal bout with cancer gives him a unique empathy towards this group.
Becky is also a native Memphian with a degree from Auburn in Early Childhood Education and shares Tucker’s passion. Her heart is to build a loving community for hurting people so they can see Jesus, begin to follow Him, and find the hope and peace He gives in the midst of pain.
