Youth worshiping the Lord in Haiti

Nego was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti. He has been trained as a youth preacher in the church that he got baptized in.  After going to an internship in 2005, he became deeply involved in missions as a youth minister.  By the year 2005, Nego started working for Farsight Youth Ministry, a ministry of the Farsight Christian Mission, Inc.  Nego joined NMSI in January 2008.  Nego also had the privilege to earn a degree in Adult Psychology with Penn Foster College/ICS Canada.

Ellen was born in Ontario, Canada, and attended Durham College to become a graphic designer.  She worked with a Baptist church in Canada as a volunteer with their children’s programs and as a youth leader for Lakes Community Church and Littleton Pentecostal Church.  Ellen made her first trip to Haiti in January 2008.

Nego and Ellen met in 2008 while working with Haitian youth at a summer outreach program in the mountains of Seguin.  They were married in March of 2009 in Haiti by a Canadian pastor.

Their mission and focus for the work in Haiti is to see and fill needs.  Nego and Ellen meet people who have a vision and project ready to help fill the needs of Haitians. They work in creating networks that will help bring more projects and relief to Haiti.  Connecting with people who have projects and who are looking for guidance, Nego and Ellen show people where their projects could be used effectively. Nego and Ellen have partnered with youthHOPE, a ministry of NMSI in reaching the youth of their country.

Nego and Ellen work alongside the Bezalel Movement, a Haitian Christian Organization that Nego started in 2005, working in Jacmel,  with the goal of “Leading the Youth of Haiti to Christ.”
