Ministering with an adult short-term church team in Haiti
Mike and Sarah Sheagren met at Lincoln Christian College in 2003 and joined NMSI the day after they were married in 2004. At that time Mike joined the CGO staff as the Director of Go Global and later transitioned into the role of Director of Short-term Ministries in Florida. Sarah is involved in the SW Florida community as she stays home ministering to their foster children.
Mike’s first experience with NMSI was as a summer intern to Bulgaria in 2004. What drew Mike to NMSI was the organization’s desire to see Mike completely fulfilled in what Christ had planned for him, whatever the cost.
In his role as Director of Short-term Ministries, Mike oversees the process of recruitment and placement of Short-term participants involved with NMSI for less than one year. He works to foster spiritual growth and leadership development in the participants through extensive pre-field training, on-field community experience, and post–field debriefing. Mike also communicates with NMSI missionaries and associates on the field to set up projects for the participants.
