Missionary kids telling their stories
Joanne earned a Bachelors in English and a Masters in Elementary Education at Truman State University. After teaching in St. Louis for three years, she affiliated with New Mission Systems International (NMSI). Joanne spent a year and a half working in the Media Department at NMSI before deploying to San Jose, Costa Rica, to teach at an international school named Sojourn Academy.
Currently Joanne aims to bring hope and stability to missionary children in transition through consistent love and quality education. Soon she will return to NMSI’s home office to debrief her experience overseas as well as pray and research future deployment options to Hispanic locations with NMSI.
Joanne’s long-term desire is to facilitate emotional and spiritual transformation in children through deep, ongoing relationships. She has a particular passion for encouraging those who are outcasts, those who are anxious, have been abused, or are poor. She longs for all children to know that they are unique, safe, deeply loved, and will never be abandoned by Christ. Joanne is currently seeking God for more specific information about ministry context and location.
