Using the internet to minister globally
Jim and Cindy were married in 1990 in Holland, Michigan. Jim had been a widower with four grown children, and Cindy had just returned from being a missionary in Taiwan for eight years. They were active in prayer and discipleship ministry in the local church. In 2000, they moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, to help with a church plant. In 2003, they moved to Fort Myers to do Freedom in Christ ministry, prayer and Bible studies.
Jim was ordained by Gospel Ministers and Churches International, certified as a Chaplain, trained by the Navigators and Neil Anderson’s Freedom in Christ ministry. Cindy has a background in Elementary education, a Master’s Degree from Columbia International University and served in Taiwan for eight years with Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF).
Cindy’s ministry at the CGO includes weekly prayer sessions with missionaries, contacting missionaries for their requests for the weekly prayer calendar for the website and CGO, and leading a workshop on developing prayer teams for new missionaries attending Orientation. Jim’s is living out his passion to reach the lost for Christ by responding to online requests-sharing the gospel, answering questions, encouraging new believers, and praying for specific needs.
Jim and Cindy both enjoy swimming, bike riding, and watching sports on TV. Cindy likes to read and knit, and Jim likes to work on puzzles.
