Jacquemise leading during a baptism ceremony in Port-au-Prince
Martin is a pastor serving in his own country, Haiti. In 1998, Martin met former NMSI president, Phil Hudson, in Port-au-Prince, serving as his interpreter. The next year, Phil took a team again to Haiti, and Martin made himself available for the team. Martin then joined NMSI in February 2004.
Martin married Jacquemise in February 1996, and they have four children: Monica, Jephthe, Caleb and Debora.
After graduating from Bible school in 1997, Martin, Jacquemise and three others started Agape Evangelical Church. This was the ground work for Agape Christian Ministries of Haiti (ACMH), a ministry dedicated to planting churches all over Haiti through agape love. ACMH is made up of one church in Port-au-Prince, one in the slum area of Cite Soleil, two in Jeremie, a Bible school for the training of lay workers, and two other churches being planted in Delmas and Aquin.
In fall 2005, Martin started a new ministry which focuses on meeting people’s physical needs (a school sponsorship program for needy children, clothing, etc.). Their motto is “Agape love never fails“ (1 Corinthians 13:8). Jacquemise not only takes care of the children, but is also involved in the worship team and women’s ministry. Recently, Martin has been collecting resources and support to start a micro-enterprise printing business. With this business he plans to print Christian materials and use the revenue to help support other ministry projects.
