Teaching in Southeast Asia
Abigail Alter graduated from Johnson University in 2005, where she studied Bible and Teacher Education, with a focus on Missions. Abigail is from Indiana with a heart for preschoolers. Her love for drama, photography, and other arts is incorporated into her teaching. While in college, she was involved in a preschool ministry for four years and taught in a Mother’s Day Out program. God led Abigail to NMSI in early 2006, and she did an internship with them during the following summer. That time confirmed to her that God wanted her with NMSI. Her heart’s desire is to serve God wherever and whenever He wants her.
Abigail has developed a program for NMSI’s missionary children as our Director of Children and Family Development. While parents go through NMSI’s Orientation program, the children are also preparing for the missionary field. Missionary children are given the opportunity to work through the transitions they are going through, process the changes with their families, and take ownership of the ministry that they will be doing as a family.
Abigail also serves in Pipeline, keeping our support-raising affiliates connected, encouraged, and prayed for until they are fully funded and leave for the field.
