We invite you to experience the joy of volunteering at our Center for Global Outreach (CGO) located in Fort Myers, FL. Your individual skills, interests and knowledge are matched to tasks and projects that contribute to sharing Christ and making disciples globally. These are investments with eternal dividends!
Satisfy your yearning for greater fulfillment through giving of yourself for the sake of others. An act of kindness, no matter how small, is never forgotten. We utilize individual volunteers as well as short-term teams from youth groups or churches. So, you choose the time, we will help you pick the role.
These are some ways volunteers have helped in the past:
- Youth groups have painted houses, completed landscaping projects, and cleaned up around our campus.
- Church work teams have helped to landscape, build houses, and complete renovations.
- Volunteers from local churches assist our communications department to send out missionary newsletters.
- Individuals give a half day to one day a week staffing our reception area.

What some of our volunteers say about their experience:
“My favorite day of the week is Friday – the day I am able to volunteer at the Center for Global Outreach of NMSI! In 2004 I went to Bulgaria as part of a mission team. When I returned, I felt a strong calling to somehow help the stateside missionaries. But I was employed full-time – how could I do it?
After much thought and prayer, I decided to cut back my hours at work so I could be off on Fridays. It has been a privilege to help at the CGO for almost seven years. The missionaries of NMSI have accepted me as one of their own, and have made me feel loved, appreciated, and part of their international family.”
“Initially, I began volunteering at NMSI because God gave me the freedom to invest myself in His work. God provided a connection to NMSI and my husband encouraged me to volunteer in this ministry, so I began in November 2009.
Why I stay at NMSI is the people. I have never volunteered at a place where I feel as valued as I do at NMSI. Even two years later, folks will randomly thank me for my time. I have been humbled and honored to meet and interact with very loving, honest, godly people who share their lives and struggles openly as well as their faith in God that sees them through.
God has used this experience to open me to His heart for the world which is reflected in the hearts of NMSI affiliates. It’s a wondrous thing to observe and be part of in a very small way. Being here every week is a blessing!”
