Matt Hickman

In March 2006, just a few months away from completing his BA at Johnson Bible College in Preaching and Bible, Matt felt a call from God to spend the following summer doing mission work overseas. He then connected with NMSI's summer internship program to go to Kenya for 10 weeks following graduation. Those 10 weeks changed Matt's life as he experienced the love of the Masai people and participated in the AfricaHope ministries.

After being richly blessed by his experienced, Matt returned to his hometown of Kingsport, Tennessee, to serve at First Christian Church. Matt spent nearly two years in a variety of roles at FCC, but the desire to return to the mission field never left him. In January 2008, Matt affiliated with NMSI to work in the Short Term Division. Now, Matt is transitioning into the role of Director of Summer Internships. Within this role, Matt will work to facilitate life changing experiences similar to his in 2006. Matt's heart is to catalyze change in American hearts that the gospel may be spread globally.

In addition, Matt enjoys telling stories, blogging, Saabs, 80s music, pulling for the Tennessee Volunteers, and attempting to play guitar.
