Distributing medicine to cyclone victims
This NMSI missionary distributes much needed medicine to alleviate the dysentary and stomach problems that are affecting the survivors of cyclone Nargis.

People are beginning to suffer from the effects of contaminated water just weeks following the cyclone that killed tens of thousands of people.  The threat is very high that more people will die from the after effects of water contamination, starvation and disease.  According to this missionary, in this village, people have no choice but to use water that is drawn from a water tank that has no cover and into which had dirt and rubbish was blown during the cyclone.  This is the only water available.

The water systems that NMSI is able to provide with funding will be able to reduce this problem, giving them a permanent source of clean drinking water. These water systems, which supply clean water for up to 1000 people costs just $3000.

Much needed rice is also being provided for these needy families.
